Hello! I’m Jessica.
My path into healthcare wasn’t exactly planned—but looking back, it feels like everything led me right where I’m supposed to be. Early on, I had a moment that completely shifted my perspective and showed me how much compassion, presence, and quick thinking can truly impact someone’s life. From that point forward, I knew I wanted to be in a role where I could show up for people in a meaningful way.
Over the last 14 years, I’ve worked across a wide range of settings—hospitals, group homes for adults with special needs, assisted living, home care, and hospice. Each experience shaped me, but it was hospice that really changed me. That’s where I found a deep connection to the geriatric population, especially those living with Alzheimer’s and other conditions affecting memory.
There’s something incredibly meaningful about memory care. It requires patience, empathy, and a willingness to meet people exactly where they are—and that’s what I love most about it.
I try to create a space where residents feel calm, safe, and respected, while also giving families the reassurance that their loved one is in good hands. That trust means everything.
I moved to Houston from Charleston, South Carolina in October of 2022, bringing both my experience and my heart for this work with me. Since then, I’ve continued to grow in a field that constantly reminds me why I chose it in the first place.
When I’m not at the community, I’m usually with my two dogs—MarLeigh, my Miniature Yorkie, and MiLano, my Shih Tzu—who keep life fun and full of personality. I also love finding new places to eat, a little retail therapy here and there, and any opportunity to be near the beach.
At the end of the day, this work is about people. It’s about showing up, being present, and making sure every person feels cared for in a way that’s real and genuine. That’s what keeps me here, and that’s what I bring with me every single day.
